Recovery from Bowel Cancer
I met Andrea when I attended Hippocrates Health Institute (HHI) in September 2011 to complete the Life Change Programme. I spent a lot of time with Andrea at HHI and was constantly inspired and amazed by her strength, positive outlook and loving nature. Andrea’s story is a perfect example of what can be achieved with faith, belief and dedication to health and healing. It also showed me how love and positivity can influence healing, which forms an integral part of the Life Change Programme.
Andrea lives in Florida with her husband Robert and is very close to her beautiful and ever-expanding family, with 6 children of her own, 6 grandchildren and another grandchild on the way.
Andrea’s story
In August 2011, at the age of 53, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. After numerous medical tests my doctor sent me to a specialist oncologist who decided immediately to schedule surgery to remove 15 inches of my rectum. He also prescribed chemotherapy and radiation.
After my diagnosis I did some research and decided to start a plant based diet and cleanse which I hoped would assist my recovery.
A wonderful and generous friend gave me a gift of a 3-week Life Change Programme at The Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. I decided to do this before the surgery. During a routine live blood cell analysis at HHI, the nurse was impressed with the progress I had already made in my health and recommended that I postpone my surgery for at least three months while I finished the program I was learning at Hippocrates. This included a raw vegan diet, taking daily shots of wheatgrass, having three fresh vegetable juices daily, colon hydrotherapy and wheat grass implants, powerful supplements, fresh clean air and exercise.
I took my nurse’s suggestion and three months later, when I was checked by my oncologist, the tumor was less than half the size and falling apart. I had minor surgery to remove the tumour and declined their recommendation for chemo and radiation. Instead, I followed the new healthy habits I had learned.
The experience, in my opinion, was a gift from my Lord. I learned many wonderful things and made amazing new friends.
Today I am happy and grateful to be cancer free.

Note: When embarking on changes to your diet always work with a qualified practitioner, such as a Nutritionist/Nutritional Therapist, and let your doctor know. This is especially important if you are taking prescription medication and/or having surgery.
