Ethos Restaurant, London
Where? Ethos Restaurant, Oxford Circus, London
Why? Dinner with my friend Ashleigh
When? 18th September 2015
Type? Vegetarian and vegan
Ethos is a unique haven of healthy food in the centre of London, where you can dine in a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by trees. There are actual trees in the restaurant which filled the space with calm even though it was busy.
A variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes provide a feast for the eyes and taste amazing. With dishes like zucchini and cheddar cakes, butternut squash, spinach & feta salad, puy lentils with coconut cream and sweet potato fries, I think everyone could find something they like, even if you usually eat meat at every meal.
The restaurant is self-service and then you weigh and pay. Even if you fill your plate it’s usually only around £20. The food was delicious and I wanted to try everything. I always find vegan and vegetarian food much more colourful, which is great considering I’m always encouraging everyone to eat a rainbow of vegetables.
The service was very attentive and friendly. Even though it’s self-service there were lots of staff on hand to answer questions and bring more drinks. Talking of drinks, the restaurant has a variety of juices as well as some vegan wines if you fancy a tipple.

A buffet is always hard to make look pretty and I can honestly say my plate was a mess, so here is Asha’s dinner.
We didn’t order dessert as we were very full, but there was a selection including cheesecake and brownies, many of which were vegan. They also had peanut butter bombs which I would quite like to try. Next time I’ll make sure my eyes aren’t too big for my stomach and I have room for dessert.
Ethos also does breakfast, take away or eat-in, for £3.50-£4.50. Porridge, scrambled eggs, pancakes, smoothies and juices are on the menu and they offer free-from options. I will certainly take advantage of this when I’m working in the area.
All in all a delightful restaurant with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and yummy food. I will definitely be going back.
